Last Ditch

I keep trying to avoid posting about being pregnant, unless if it's for fascinating Did You Know? type of stuff, but frankly, it's on my brain so screw it! I don't care if there a million and one baby blogs out there, or pregnancy blogs, or mommy blogs or daddy blogs. I want to be able to blog about stuff that's on my mind and the baby is on my mind. Or, rather, on my waist band.

My husband and I are heading out of town this afternoon (after baby doctor appointment #2) for a mini holiday.  We started doing this a couple of years ago, just running away for one overnight, when we changed some things in our lives and became rather short on funds.  And now, with baby on the way, well, we'll probably do this less frequently.  So I twisted his rubber arm and called it a birthday treat and soon we're off! I was packing up until a minute ago when I had to stop because it seems I am bringing ALL the clothes that I still fit.  The pregnancy thing is starting to get me down, clothes wise. I can't just run out and buy a load of new clothes, especially since I'll only be wearing them for a few months, but I'm in a jam!   See the pics of the wicked awesome pregnancy pants I made (which are a godsend), but I am screwed on the shirt front! It just isn't always appropriate to wear skin tight t-shirts but my only other option are super baggy ones- I don't want to look or feel like a slob. And I am down to my last two button-up shirts.

And my real emergency is the hoodie problem. I have only one hoodie that fits but it will only fit for so long. And I will be ever bigger in the colder months- I can't live without a hoodie! I tried looking for a DIY solution online but have found nowt so far...bummer.

This is the awkward stage of pregnancy I guess.  Too big for my usual clothes, too small yet to feel comfortable waltzing around with my pseudo belly out.  Too early and too broke to buy a ton of new clothes. As if awkward-stage hair wasn't bad enough.

Well, here's to a super fun mini-vacation!
